Long
Bow Barrow
This rather curious name was given to a goods hand barrow with very
long forks. They were not as common as the goods hand barrow, mainly
being confined to large or busy stations. Several photos exist (at Waterloo
for instance) showing porters with improbably large amounts of passenger
luggage stacked on board. Exactly when they were introduced is not known
but certainly very early, lasting well into SR days.
